LaVon M. (Hoffmann) Martin joined the firm in 1981 as receptionist while attending Arizona State University in Tempe in pursuit of an accounting degree. She graduated from ASU in May of 1985 with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in accounting and received her certification in October of 1987. Along with the regular work as a CPA, she prepares the estate tax returns for the firm. LaVon was named a shareholder of the firm in July 1996.

She is a native of South Dakota and graduated from Hazen High School in North Dakota. At North Dakota State University in Fargo, she received her first Bachelor of Sciences Degree, with a major in Home Economics and minors in English and Composite Sciences. She taught a year at Great Falls High School in Montana. After living two years in Germany, she moved to the Valley of the Sun with her family in May of 1969. She is the mother of two daughters, Robyn and Dawn, who are employed in emergency medical service fields.

LaVon is an active volunteer in civic, educational and religious organizations where she shares her accounting skills. She is presently serving as Regional representative to the General Board of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She also serves on the board of Waymark Gardens in Glendale AZ.

LaVon enjoys reading, sight-seeing and traveling, having toured much of Europe when she lived there. She travels at every opportunity and lists her favorite as the cruise of the Inside Passage of Alaska.
